Every fire season, wildland firefighters stand on the front lines of conservation—risking their lives to protect the places that have become our playground. California’s 2018 fire season was the worst on record—ending with the deadly Camp Fire that decimated the town of Paradise. To help educate around this epidemic, we recently spoke to Burk Minor, director of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, about the worsening fire seasons and the important role the firefighters play in protecting us.
