I've been getting an insane amount of questions lately... And I want to make sure I keep up with your pierced/modified conundrums! Today, we have questions from Lacie, Jennifer, and Shanika - we're talking about tricky belly rings and how to heal them; a 30 year old belly piercing, and what to do about a piercing bump on your nose ring. Today's Questions: - "About 2 years ago I got my belly button pierced and it had a hard time healing. Iβm not sure if my body was rejecting the jewelry or it having to do with the fact that I gained weight afterwards, but with that being said, I left my piercing in for about a year & a half after getting it pierced & i feel as if it never was healing because it constantly hurt & was always sore (I was still cleaning it properly). I took my belly ring out one night & within the next morning my whole had closed. It left a major scar & itβs about 1 inch long:( But I really miss my piercing & it was super cute! What is your opinion on getting it redone?" - Lacie - "I have a belly piercing that I had done when I was 29. Now, I'm 58 and my skin is naturally thinning from getting older. My belly ring still looks good, but I've noticed the area of the piercing is getting smaller. Is this common in us older gals? I'm assuming this is a natural occurrence for aging, but I'd like your take on this. Thank you so much Alley!" - Jennifer - "I tried switching my nose ring only after a couple weeks.. I ended up keeping the original nose ring and the after effect is a bump in place of my nose ring. I took the nose ring out but thereβs still a bump. How can I get rid of it?" - Shanika |
