Parler tries for a comeback: What you need to know
Parler, the controversial social media platform conservative pundits fled to over the past year, is back online—barely.
The Twitter-like service all but got destroyed a little over a week ago, following the attempted insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. It was kicked out of app stores and booted off of Amazon’s AWS service. 
But as of yesterday, it seems to have found a new host, Reuters reports: a Russian-owned tech firm called DDoS-Guard for its hosting. A Russian-owned server would be concerning from a security standpoint.
Parler would still have to address moderation concerns if it wanted to get back into app stores. As of this morning, the website is made up of a single page titled “Technical Difficulties.
