So this happened: We sent out an email to The List on Tuesday morning, announcing our new edition, and everything went haywire. Our site was pretty much unreachable for about 40 minutes, exactly at the time everybody wanted to check out the Spring release. Gah. We’re sorry about that and we’re resending this mail because we can see that lots of you couldn’t get on the site Tuesday.

Our 42nd seasonal release for Spring is the “Mile Marker” Edition, which celebrates the span and history of America’s Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways.

On the Road

The bright, beefy covers are made from Westrock Tango 12pt C1S and covered with Pantone Toyo inks as specified by the awesome US DOT Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. They’ve also been stamped with holographic Crown Foil so they’re easy to spot in the beams of your headlights. They’re bound with black and white staples, with innards featuring a “Horizon Mist Gray” Dot-Graph pattern on 60#T Domtar Lynx. “Mile Marker” is perfect for laying out routes, recording mileage, and noting the various roadside attractions and oddities you’ve spotted along the way.

With a bold, simple iconic design, this 3-Pack of Memo Books gets right to the heart of Field Notes. Practical American design with a sense of history and familiarity is what we’re all about.

Our Spring 3-Packs are priced at $12.95 each, and they’re on sale and shipping right now. “Mile Marker” is a limited edition. When they’re gone, they’re gone forever. Year-long subscribers, as usual, yours are already on their way to you.

Hitching a Ride

The companion to “Mile Marker” is an old-school gas-station-style, difficult-to-refold-properly, Field Notes National Highway Map. The map unfolds to 36" x 24.5". One side features a large, amazing diagram of the continental Interstate System, designed for Field Notes by Cameron Booth of Portland, Oregon. (2117 driving miles from HQ in Chicago BTW). The reverse side is completely jammed with useful, sorta useful, and some fun-but-not-at-all-useful information. The map is available for purchase but...

...active year-long subscribers will get the Map free with their Spring shipment. (Membership has its privileges.) Start a subscription with “Mile Marker” and you’ll get two 3-Packs of those, plus the Map and two 3-Packs of our original Kraft Memo Books right away. Then you’ll receive two each of the Summer, Fall, and Winter Editions when they’re announced.

We can’t wait for summer for lots of reasons, not the least of which is what we have in development for our next Quarterly Release.

In or near Chicago, or can get here next week? We're having a Launch Party at HQ on Wednesday, April 3rd from 4 to 7pm. Save the date. Watch for details.

Thanks for believing in Field Notes. On the first really warm day let’s all crank down the windows, crank up the radio, and just drive.

Love,
The Field Notes Brand Crew
