Over the past couple of months, how many quick Google searches for “coronavirus” have turned into hours-long investigations into the latest number of confirmed cases and treatment trials? If the answer is more than a few, you’re not alone: According to a study by researchers at Ohio State University, during the Zika virus outbreak of 2015 and 2016, the more people learned about the epidemic, the more they felt they needed to learn. Knowledge is power, there’s no doubt about it, but what happens when you become so immersed in information that you can’t concentrate on your job?
