In the war against Covid-19, doctors and scientists are fighting against two enemies: the virus itself, and the growing number of people who deny the pandemic is really a problem. Unfortunately, science seems to be on the losing side of the battle. Even as states that reopened early are shutting down again due to the increased number of cases, some residents are calling for an end to mask mandates and social distancing requirements. People in Texas and Louisiana, two of the current Covid-19 hotspots, have called for an end to the shutdown order for bars and other businesses. Meanwhile, cases in multiple states, including Florida and New Jersey continue to rise.
