Now Available for Pre-Order: The skate that introduced the one-piece benefit to the hockey world and changed the game in 2016 is back with a whole new design, an enhanced fit and is loaded with high performance features. Featuring the engineered and patented MonoFrame 360 technology – one of the most popular skate technologies in hockey – the new Super Tacks AS1 pushes the limits even further on a skate that has already broken the barriers of fit and performance. |
FIT ADVANTAGES A one-piece boot means CCM has removed the need for an outsole underneath the boot and created a one-piece, seamless quarter package. This provides significant advantages to players from a fit perspective. In fact, many of the best players in the world agree that one-piece models are the best-fitting skates in the industry. Just ask Tavares, Burns, Bergeron, Parise and Jones, to name but a few. The reason is simple: with a one-piece boot, a higher level of precision can be achieved when shaping and curving the various skate materials to a foot. So whether it’s around the heel, the ankle or the forefoot, skates can be designed with a higher level of precision, meaning they simply fit players better. More specifically, players will have a greater contact area with the entire skate, eliminating all negative space and providing a more comfortable and 360-degree connected fit overall. |
WEIGHT ADVANTAGES Moving from a traditional two-piece skate construction to a one-piece skate means that components and materials are taken out of the boot, making it lighter and boosting performance. A two-piece boot has a quarter package and an outsole underneath that is bonded with heavy materials like glue and nails. In a one-piece boot, the outsole and bonding materials are taken out and the boot is fused as one seamless construction for a better fit and lighter weight. This step automatically enhances the performance of the skate. ENERGY TRANSFER ADVANTAGES A one-piece boot has a significant impact on the energy transferred with every stride. While skating on a two-piece model puts stress on the skate’s joints and seams, the one-piece boot is conducive to energy transfer, allowing the player’s power to be quickly and seamlessly transferred down the boot to the ice, for an exceptional skating performance. |
