The reason is simple: with a one-piece boot, a higher level of precision can be achieved when shaping and curving the various skate materials to a foot. Moving from a traditional two-piece skate construction to a one-piece skate means that components and materials are taken out of the boot, making it lighter and boosting performance. A two-piece boot has a quarter package and an outsole underneath that is bonded with heavy materials like glue and nails. In a one-piece boot, the outsole and bonding materials are taken out and the boot is fused as one seamless construction for a better fit and lighter weight. This step automatically enhances the performance of the skate.
