Introducing the HODINKEE Magazine, Volume 5
Our premium print journal returns for its fifth outing.
The HODINKEE Magazine is back for Volume 5, and this issue a great one. We've searched near and far for the most engaging long-form stories to tell. And each one of them has been rigorously researched, written and edited by the HODINKEE team; we've also worked with some of the world's most talented photographers to ensure that Volume 5 is our most beautiful issue to date.

The storytelling runs deep in the HODINKEE Magazine, Volume 5. As we already know, watches can be heirlooms that connect family members across generations. The rusted-out Rolex Datejust on our cover, recovered from the remains of a 1952 plane crash, is one such watch. Worn by a pilot who flew covert missions for the CIA during the Cold Wore, our cover story tells the gripping tale of the recovery of the watch, and its return to the owner's nephew after nearly 70 years. But this story is far from all that our fifth issue has in store.
Our founder, Ben Clymer, examines an oft-overlooked chapter of vintage wristwatch collecting that spans some of the most important complications ever made by Audemars Piguet.
This issue also features Aziz Ansari and Fred Savage on watch collecting, as well as contributions Atlantic publisher Hayley Romer, Olympic cyclist Fabian Cancellara, and photographer Michael Turek.
Mario Carbone is a chef at the top of his game. The story of Carbone's mission to restore the venerable Italian-American table created and nurtured by early Italian immigrants and their descendants is already well-known to foodies. Virtually unknown is Carbone's passion for collecting and appreciating an unexpected spirit. It isn't aged Barolo, peated scotch, or rare bourbons that pique Mario's interest: It's rum. Stephen sat down with the chef for a spirited discussion on the topic and a rare invitation, which we extend to you, into the Carbone collection.
Making the HODINKEE Magazine is an undertaking that draws on the talents and energy of the whole HODINKEE team. We know that you will love it.
