#1 – CBD is illegal in my U.S. state
CBD and hemp are legal in all 50 states. CBD and hemp should not be confused with marijuana (illegal in some states).
#2 – CBD from hemp and marijuana are the same thing
Hemp contains much more CBD and very little of the psychoactive compound THC, compared to marijuana.
#3 – It’s OK to give a dog CBD with THC in it
Ask any veterinarian, marijuana poisoning is a very real and dangerous thing. While some sellers argue a very small amount of THC is ok for dogs, we believe 0% THC is the safest option for your dog.
#4 – CBD is psychoactive and will make my dog “high”
It’s the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana that gives people a high, not CBD. We recommend avoiding products with THC.
#5 – It’s easy to give a dog an overdose of CBD
Unlike the THC, the toxicity of CBD appears negligible. With that said, you should always start slow when introducing any new supplement into your dog’s diet.
#6 – All CBD is basically the same
A trustworthy CBD supplier will go the extra mile to test their CBD by batch to ensure its efficacy and purity. Look for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for any CBD product and check the testing date as well as the compounds found.
#7 – It’s OK to buy a hemp product without knowing exactly how much CBD is in it
Many sellers of hemp products refuse to state how much cannabidiol (CBD) in milligrams is in their product. This can be very confusing, as the proper dosage can make all the difference.
