A message from our CEO
Our hearts are heavy as we reflect on the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and many others. We are saddened that Black Americans suffer from unjust, intolerant and unloving behavior in our society. We are reminded that we, both individually and as an organization, need to strive to make this world a better place day by day, relationship by relationship and act by act.
To allow other voices to be heard in the digital space, we made the decision to stop our regularly scheduled social posts from May 31 through June 9. We now see that our silence was not a strong enough response to discrimination in our country towards members of the Black community and communities of color. We do not tolerate or give a voice to racism and injustice.
As an organization, we understand our responsibility to react to these heartbreaking events and to participate in charting a better course forward. We are committing to use our influence to address racism, inequity, intolerance and hate. We are actively vetting organizations focused on rooting out discrimination and injustice and plan to allocate a significant percentage of our charitable giving efforts to these causes. We hope you will join us. – John McCullough, CEO
