A little more than 10 years ago, I quit my day job to start Khan Academy. It was arguably delusional, but I secretly thought to myself, “What if Khan Academy could be a long-lasting institution for the world?”

We wanted Khan Academy to be an institution to collect and spread knowledge for humanity. And we wanted that knowledge to be absolutely free for everyone. While being free benefits everyone, it is especially important for people who otherwise couldn’t afford access.
