Let’s celebrate

Today is Levi Strauss’ birthday.

If he were alive today, he’d be 189 years old.

So today, we’re celebrating the many ways Strauss had an impact on history.

He first came to the U.S. from Bavaria at age 18 to work with his family in New York City.

After making his way to California, he partnered with tailor Jacob Davis to patent the first pair of blue jeans—the 501® Original—changing history forever.
