BABY’S FIRST CAMPING TRIP

Camping! Everyone’s doing it! Tired of hanging at home and with nowhere to go, Americans across the country are looking for an adventure for the whole family. But first thing’s first: What should the kids wear? Deep in our vault, we’ve got this kids’ two-piece set for the fashion inspo you need.

Though Levi’s® has always been pretty outdoorsy, we didn’t start making outdoor wear for adults until the Roaring Twenties. Kids’ outdoor wear came a decade later. Though we don’t know exactly when this specific set was produced, there’s a catalog in our Archives from 1931 with this very outfit as an illustration.

This set is part of our long-defunct Home Run Covert Family line, produced with family hikes and sunny California camping in mind. The outfit also came in two other colors, including an army green.

If there’s a silver lining to this pandemic, it’s that more families are spending more time together and picking up activities that came before video games, color TV, high-speed internet and friends. If you’re going to become one with nature, might as well look the part, too.
