It's summertime and the knitting is easy! 

SANDNES GARN ALPAKKA SILKE
The long holiday weekend is here and we want to help you shift into summer mode with a new lightweight yarn and oodles of new project inspiration! 

Today we're showing Alpakka Silke, a laceweight/light fingering weight yarn from Sandnes Garn that blends 70% baby alpaca + 30% mulberry silk. This knitted fabric is as light as a feather and soft as a cloud, with a lustrous silky sheen! This yarn comes in 50 grams / 219 yard balls in a beautiful range of summery colors!

ALPAKKA SILKE PROJECTS
MAIDA WRAP

Our Maida Wrap can't be beat for timeless simplicity. This stylish, trapezoid-shaped wrap is big on drape and shine but it's simple and portable. It's great for new knitters (you just need to know how to cast on, knit, increase and bind off) and easy to memorize, making it a great project to work on while relaxing poolside or on the beach!

To knit the Maida Wrap, you'll need: 
CUMULUS TEE

The Cumulus Tee by PetiteKnits is a clean-lined stockinette stitch design with a rounded V-neck in the front and elbow length sleeves. Since all of this pullover's edges are finished with tidy i-cord edging, there is no traditional finishing work at the end!  

To knit the Cumulus Tee, you'll need: 
FEATHERWEIGHT CARDIGAN

The Featherweight Cardigan by Hannah Fettig is a classic and for good reason! This impossibly lightweight, wear-with-everything design is ideal for year-round wear! This relaxing cardi is knit with top-down construction and written for 10 size-inclusive sizes.

MISTY WOODLANDS

If you're up for some high-impact lace knitting, we recommend Misty Woodlands from Finnish designer, SuviKnits. This asymmetric triangle shawl alternates bands of garter stitch and eyelet lace, culminating in a beautiful Pine Tree lace motif. This is a haloed accessory, meaning you'll knit with one strand of Alpakka Silke + one strand of mohair/silk lace held together.
