Not sure if you saw the news last week, but there's a report that a ring of magnets will be inside the iPhone 12. The purpose is still unconfirmed, but it appears this will help hold the phone in place for wireless charging.
It's great to see Apple moving in this direction. Moshi's own SnapTo magnetic mounting system was the first of its kind to support wireless charging pass-through:

About Moshi's SnapTo
  • Launched in September 2018
  • Semi-circle design to support wireless charging pass-through. (Metal plates do not pass Qi's Foreign Object Detection.)
  • Most popular mount: SnapTo Universal Car Mount with Wireless Charging (also supports Tesla Model 3)
  • See all the features of the SnapTo system here.
Works with Tesla
Mount to your central touchscreen to keep your phone in plain view.
