How To Style Out Your Winter Walk (No Matter Where You’re Going)
Words by Ms Lili Göksenin | Photography by Mr Philip White | Styling by Ms Sophie Watson

ust a guess, but you haven’t left your “desk” all day, have you? Which is a shame as there is a big wide world out there, waiting to be explored. Whether it’s taking the dog for a run around the park or setting out across the wild, open landscape, you should always dress for the occasion. So, here’s what to wear when you go out for a walk this winter…
01. Walking to the shops
Popping out for a takeaway coffee or a refill on fridge staples? This is an opportunity to put on trousers that do not have a drawstring and will not fall down to your ankles if you put a mobile phone in your pocket. Corduroy trousers are soft and warm, look luxurious thanks to their velvet-like sheen, and are comfortable enough to continue wearing when you settle on the couch in front of the television. We’ve taken a tonal approach here – navy trousers, navy pullover – so you can put the least amount of thought into this outfit while still looking stylish. Throw on a maroon shell jacket and technical sneakers and you’re set for all weather (never let a bit of rain stop you from stretching your legs).
02. Outdoor socialising in style
We might not be able to mix indoors the way we would like to, but why not see this as an excuse to show off your excellent coat collection to friends and potential lovers? Social walks in the park or around the block are an excuse to wear the nice overcoat you haven’t had an opportunity to wear this season. This one, from MP Massimo Piombo, is a worthy investment. A supple blend of cotton, alpaca and mohair, and a fuzzy, teddy-bear texture, means you’ll stay nice and toasty, and standout amid the sea of black and navy this winter. If the winds are a-whistling, layer up with a denim jacket and a turtleneck beneath. You’ll look sharp and put together, it may just inspire your friends to step up their style game.
