We asked some of our favorite Peruvian artisans to share their love stories for Valentine’s Day. We’re head-over-heels for their answers.

I was in an arranged marriage for a long time. Although I cared for him, we never found love. A few years ago, I rediscovered my teenage love again. We were 13 years-old when we met and could never formalize our relationship because my parents forced me to get married at a very young age. At a fair, by chance, we ran into each other. Our craft brought us together again after many years and we have been inseparable!
In the middle of summer, I was eating churros with a friend on a terrace and, Gregor, who had come to Peru from Germany, was buying sandals next to the churrería. I lived in the USA at the time and he in Germany, and we were both visiting Peru. He approached me and we connected very well. We had a lot of trust from the beginning. This is how we started a long-distance relationship. For two years, we sent letters that took 20 days to arrive between Peru and Germany. Moving to Peru, we decided to get married. It's been 42 wonderful years since then.
I met my wife 31 years ago when she came to work in my workshop. It all started as a friendship, yet I began to fall in love with her cheerful way of being — her smile, personality and how professional she was at work. Since then, we have been together. We carry love for each other and towards the creation of our wonderful designs in reverse painted glass.
