Gearing Up for World Artisan Day in Thailand

As we prepare for World Artisan Day, our Artisan Empowerment Hubs around the globe turn up the volume on the celebrations. In Thailand, the Songkran festival is the perfect occasion to honor traditional artisans and all those who love the arts. All week long, our team in Thailand will be visiting elder artisans with small gifts and blessings to pay respect.

Our National Representative in Thailand, Duangruethai Tongpetch, says, “One of the important traditions we do on Songkran Day is to pour water on the revered elders’ hands and ask for blessings. Every year we arrange flowers, incense sticks, candles, Thai traditional fragrances and small gifts to pay respects to the elderly artists. I want to take this opportunity on behalf of Novica to say how much we appreciate their creations. We express our gratitude to them for their intention to preserve and continue the craftsmanship.”
