In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, we’re championing the incredible female artisans who inspire us every day.
They do it with a chisel, a backstrap loom, beads, silver and gemstones. They do it with intricate designs that can take weeks to complete. Through their art, they challenge gender stereotypes and expectations. They assert their economic independence, send their children to school, build supportive homes, and create handmade treasures, often in male-dominated fields. We celebrate them and their awe-inspiring achievements. |
