Just off the toe of Italy’s boot is the largest Mediterranean island, Sicily. Because of its location at the heart of the sea it was for centuries a crossroads of trades and cultures leaving behind traces of architecture, food and language that is unique to the Island. The RVCA skate team found themselves drawn there in exploration of untapped spots and rarely skated cities. Starting in Catania but making their way around the Island to Palermo, Gibellina and Syracuse, the days were spent skating, eating arancini, fresh seafood pasta and drinking rich coffee or the Italian beer Moretti. With scenic beaches, an active volcano, old cities lined with ancient chapels, temples, fish markets and street food vendors, Sicily proved itself the perfect backdrop for an array of great skate spots, good times with friends and adventures they’ll never forget.
