The first thing to do is think about what you eat and avoid the things that make you flush or break out. For example, if you flush with red wine, don't drink red wine... try changing to white. If too much coffee makes you flush, avoid that. It can be very individual, so you have to be a detective. Try adding a good quality probiotic to your diet for at least 3 months. This helps some people. More on this on a blog I wrote here.
Secondly, think about environmental factors. If you are flushed getting out of the shower, turn the water temperature down or don't run it right on your face. If a skincare product makes you red, stop using it. If you have rosacea, use your topical medication like metroniadazole or azelaic acid every day. If you tend to flush with wind, wrap a scarf or hood around your head, etc. Basically... the only thing you want to flush with is exercise so don't stop that!!
Thirdly, if you remain red, gentle lasers like an IPL or VBeam are very helpful. They usually require an initial series of 3-5 treatments and then approximately 1 treatment a year for maintenance. For more on this, see my blog here.
