Protecting Our Guests And Spirit Family Our first Spirit Value is safety, and we continue to focus on keeping our Guests and Spirit Family safe and healthy. We have always utilized hospital-grade disinfectants which are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency as effective against the COVID-19 coronavirus as well as other viruses and bacteria. Our onboard air is cleaned throughout each flight with state-of-the-art HEPA filters that capture 99.97% of particles. Since the outbreak, we've elevated our cleaning processes by providing additional cleaning supplies in our onboard supply kits, increasing cleanings between flights and adding an extra focus on high-frequency touch points such as handles, seatbelt buckles, tray tables and armrests. We've also begun implementation of new electrostatic sprayer cleaning technology in our facilities, blocked middle seats to provide additional distancing between Guests, removed seatback menus to reduce common touchpoints and changed our snack and beverage service to be by request only. As we continue to invest in the airport of the future, we're proud to offer new technology-driven solutions like our automated self-bag drop and our existing self bag-tagging for contactless check-in. These technologies enable improved social distancing while helping you get through the airport more quickly than ever. Here For You Now And If Your Plans Change When you're ready to travel again, we're ready to serve your travel needs with our flexible travel options. We've waived change and cancellation fees to help you plan your travel with peace of mind. To provide impacted Guests even more flexibility, we've extended our reservation credits giving you 12 months from the issue date to travel. If you were previously issued a 6-month credit, it is automatically being extended to 12 months. If you're a Free Spirit member, thanks for your continued loyalty. We've waived redeposit fees on cancelled award tickets and extended the miles in your account as of March all the way through September 2020. Supporting Our Communities During this unprecedented time of travel restrictions, we're collaborating with embassies and local governments throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. So far, we've transported over a thousand stranded travelers into and out of Aruba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Panama bringing them home to be reunited with their families and loved ones. Preparations are underway for additional flights to transport hundreds more home in the coming days. We're also grateful to help make a difference in the communities where we live and work through The Spirit Airlines Charitable Foundation. We've partnered with other non-profit organizations, including Jack and Jill Children's Center and the YMCA, to provide food to the elderly and families struggling during this time. We've also supported organizations creating masks for our frontline medical responders to ensure they remain healthy while caring for our communities. |
