Patagonia have been evolving fleece for almost five decades. It all started with Yvon Chouinard’s favourite wool sweater. The preferred choice of insulation for the time, wool became heavy when wet, was slow to dry and difficult to clean. So they started looking for a fabric with the same warmth and strength as wool, but lighter and quicker to dry. That fabric became the first synthetic fleece. ''Now every fleece fabric we make contains at least 50% recycled material, and all our fleece styles are Fair Trade Certified™sewn. They are still as soft, comfortable, timeless and reliable as they used to be, just made better'' |
