Launched in 2021 by Sweaty Betty founder, Tamara Hill-Norton, The Sweaty Betty Foundation’s vision is a world where every woman and girl is active, healthy and happy. The Foundation works directly with girls on school and community projects to understand the barriers to taking part in physical activity and help them feel more confident and find activities they’ll love. | |
| Working with Black Girls Hike, we fund a variety of fun outdoor hiking sessions for 150 teenage girls in Manchester, giving them skills and confidence, while connecting with nature. | |
| With 88% of parks and games areas across the UK used by boys, through funded research and collaboration with Make Space For Girls, we’re campaigning local Councils for these spaces to be designed with teenage girls in mind. | We decided to create a NEW sports Hijab with the help of six girls we met through the Foundation, so that every girl can take part in PE, regardless of religion. Due to launch 2024, watch this space… | Statistically, girls from Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse communities are significantly less physically active. Together with Sporting Equals, we’re empowering young girls to co-design activities to help overcome the race and faith barriers that exist. | |
