Sashiko was originally used in the edo era of Japan as a decorative treatment, and also for reinforcement and repair—or when piecing together new clothes from worn out ones. Naturally, we're inspired by the fact that these 'little stabs' form a functional and design purpose.

As we constantly look for inspiration in building products for the Long Haul, we were particularly impressed by its unique visual gravitas and strength for ulta-rugged construction. So, ever since, we have incorporated the weave construction into our fabrics as it became a known TS staple.
