We’re adding a new jacket to the workshop this week: The Ojai Jacket in Tobacco. The signature Ojai details—awesome ring-back buttons, ample storage space, and a tailored cut—remain unchanged, but what really sets this iteration apart is the material: sateen is in the twill family (alongside denim, khaki, etc.), but it’s significantly softer. Reverse sateen was first developed by the US military during the Korean War as a light-yet-durable alternative to WWII-era herringbone twill—quite a pedigree, if you ask us. Pre-fund today and save!

We&squot;ve taken this 100% organic cotton sateen and reversed it: the soft "face" rests against the skin, and the durable "self" is exposed to the elements. We&squot;ve even given this run a wash to enhance its naturally smooth texture. The resulting material is remarkably comfortable, studry, and sharp.

Artist Spotlight : Dani Vergés
We’d also like to take a moment to highlight the work of our friend Dani Vergés, an exceptionally talented watercolor painter based in Barcelona, Spain. Dani’s work is characterized by a quiet, somber sense of restraint. Even in the face of isolation, his subjects exude tremendous inner strength and resolve. He covers a lot of ground in his work, but it’s immediately clear that he has a special affection for the classic imagery of the American west: cowboys at work or at rest, sprawling plains (sometimes powerfully rendered using blank canvas), and fauna. We’ve commissioned three pieces from Dani, each of which showcases his incredible talent and his one-of-a-kind perspective. Click through to take a closer look—
