A brief history of the devil
By Brian A. Pavlac, Directed by Reza Riahi & Mehdi Shiri
Satan, the beast crunching sinners’ bones. Lucifer, the fallen angel. Mephistopheles, the trickster striking deals. These three divergent devils are all based on Satan of the Old Testament. But unlike any of these literary devils, the Satan of the Bible was a relatively minor character. So how did he become the ultimate antagonist, with so many different forms? Brian A. Pavlac investigates.

Why every world map is wrong
By Kayla Wolf, directed by Hernando Bahamon, Globizco Studios
Fourteen Greenlands could fit in Africa— but you wouldn’t guess it from most maps of the world. The fact is, every world map humans have ever made is wrong. How is that possible? Jacques S. Abramowicz digs into the unique properties of ultrasound.

Coming this month
You've been underestimating hummingbirds. That's all we'll say for now, but just prepare yourself to look at these flying jewels through new eyes. Speaking of things you shouldn't underestimate, we're going to tell you about the most painful insect sting in the animal kingdom. If that has you feeling faint, don't worry, you'll be able to justify a little shut-eye with our animation about the science of naps. Acid rain, the Socratic Method and a few other surprises are all coming your way as well. Stay tuned and stay curious!

TED Masterclass
We’ve all witnessed it: in our social media feeds, during work meetings, in conversations at cocktail parties, and perhaps most unfortunately on keynote stages: we’ve all seen someone who thinks they’re communicating when what they’re actually doing is pontificating.
