The Rug Company has collaborated with renowned studio glass artist Dale Chihuly on a new collection entitled Masterpieces II. The four rugs translate the fluidity and transparency of the artist’s iconic glasswork through carefully crafted wool and silk motifs. |

Inspired by Chihuly’s “Persian” series, River transposes the repetitive rings of molten glass into an asymmetrical swirling motif. This design echoes a strong swell of water that has been woven in deep blues and cool greys. |

Scallop takes inspiration from Chihuly’s “Macchia” series, presenting a monochromatic wool motif with blue silk accents. Handknotted in 12 individual colours, this design illustrates the illusion of movement that flows across the surface. |

Reminiscent of a shoreline, Oyster presents the spontaneity of natural patterns against a rippled motif. This design features colourful silk accents against a neutral Tibetan wool base, showcasing a contrast of bold and soft hues. |

Coho features 32 individual hues, presenting an abstract motif that captures the fluid lines and droplets of glass blowing. A blend of Tibetan wool and silk varies the vibrancy of each colour, creating the illusion of transparency and delicacy of glass. |
