So, FaceApp is back. And with the popular photo editing app's return to the social media spotlight, concerns over privacy settings (and for some, like the Democratic Party, the app's Russian developers) have sparked a new conversation as to what it means when we give apps access to our data and what they can do with it.

Whether or not FaceApp poses more of a risk than any other app on our phones is still up for debate, but it seems like it's an important conversation to have, at the very least — especially as apps demand more and more of our information.
