SpongeBob memes are practically their own language on the internet now, and Nickelodeon has fully embraced this, by releasing a line of SpongeBob meme figurines for the show's 20th anniversary.

I talked to the company's director of toy design and got a tour of the office, where he told me that the 'Masterpiece Memes' collection has become a top seller. In fact, the line's been doing so well that Nickelodeon is working on a second wave of SpongeBob Meme figurines, and just might apply the same strategy to other nostalgic shows, like Rugrats.
