I got home with five minutes to go before the Oscars started. Certainly I would just be able to turn on my Apple TV, navigate to the ABC app, and click play, right? Of course not! Streaming the show isn't free, so I needed a cable login. I had one, but Verizon had deauthenticated again, so I had to reauthenticate. But I couldn't reauthenticate, because the login screen was broken (again). So I needed to find another solution.

The Verizon account isn't actually mine, so I can't really complain about this, but... it's still not supposed to be broken. And it's almost always broken. With a minute to go, I signed up for a Hulu Live TV trial account. It worked fine. I canceled it this morning. My apologies to all subscription TV companies.
