I wrote last week about how my two-year-old MacBook Pro had gotten the ever-confusing "service battery" warning out of nowhere, with no signs about what was wrong or how to fix it.

Now a week later... it's gone.

A reader told me they were able to fix their own service battery warning by replacing their charger. I didn't do that, but I did stop using non-Apple USB-C chargers for the week, so maybe that's what did the trick.

Either way, it just speaks to how useless the service battery warning is. My battery apparently wasn't the problem at all; and despite the warning, nothing needed to be serviced. Apple should really start providing some sort of detailed error messages to go along with these things.
