Last month, an Israeli lunar lander crashed on the surface of the Moon, potentially unleashing a capsule filled with dehydrated tardigrades out in space. The capsule was snuck onto the lander by a US nonprofit that had approval to add a digital library to the lander, but not, you know, living organisms. Very bold and kind of wild! NASA says we have nothing to worry about, and at best, the tardigrades might live in a dormant state for a while. Let's hope these microscopic "water bears," which look like horrific, headless little gremlins, don't come back to Earth seeking revenge.
