Social media can be miserable. Even if you don't want to or think you don't care, it's almost impossible not to pay attention to the likes and views your posts get. I had to stop posting to Instagram because it was driving me nuts, even though all I wanted to do was share some pictures with friends.

It turns out, successful models feel the same pressure. As my colleague Ashley Carman writes, a number of stars have been posing with a phone case that reads "Social media seriously harms your mental health." They still get plenty of likes — but at least they're transparent about what's going on.
