Apple's September hardware event just wrapped, and (for me, at least) the big surprises came outside of the iPhones. The Apple Watch getting an always-on display wasn't rumored, and it's been one of the biggest asks. The pricing for both Apple Arcade and Apple TV Plus is pretty competitive, and bundling a one-year TV Plus subscription with new hardware purchases is a strong way to pull people in. And while the iPhone upgrades were mostly about the cameras (I'm still very skeptical that a wide angle lens is more useful than a telephoto — like, come on, have you ever tried taking a picture of a cat?), the most striking upgrade was more battery life across the line. That's the kind of upgrade that really matters. –Jake |
