Look, I'm not the boss of you. Also, I'm not a carefully crafted generational algorithm designed to subtly nudge you toward the good of yourself and society. But if you haven't seen Google's leaked "Selfish Ledger" video yet, I would strongly suggest that you do so.

Obviously, the video was never designed to be made public, and Google claims that "it's not related to any current or future products." But holy hell is it interesting. It raises some questions that really need answers: is this how companies in Silicon Valley think of us and our data? Is this how Google thinks of us and our data?

And if a company like Google or Facebook decides to act on these ideas, what could we possibly do to stop them?

Thank you, Google, for this food for thought.

Please give me a heads up if you ever change your mind and decide to make this a product, so I can flee the planet.
