I assume you're aware, but Slack went down today, meaning thousands of companies' employees couldn't chat with each other throughout the day. No GIFs. No lunch plans. No jokes. No laughter. No shared links. No smiles.

I handled the Slack outage well, I'd say. Sure, I kept trying to click on the Slack app out of habit only to be reminded that it was down and unable to connect, but that's it. I chatted with some people on Hangouts, and The Verge switched over to Discord temporarily. It was fine. We all made it. I'm proud of us!
