The worry is that Apple’s heart just isn’t in it anymore. Apple has had a taste of ARM freedom with its high-performance custom iPad and iPhone hardware, and it just doesn’t want to deal with the x86 landscape right now.

But despite its imputed misgivings, Apple has finally done the right thing and put new-gen Intel processors into its MacBook Pros.

Should we applaud?

Should we be proud?

In a world where Apple doesn’t make the best laptop on the market anymore, it feels silly that I even care.

For me, I guess it’s a sign that the status remains quo. Apple’s still out there, (presumably) griping under its breath about Intel design decisions, clinging quixotically to Radeon graphics, and making polarizing keyboard decisions.

Look somewhere else for a laptop revolution.
