HomePod, huh? You know what'd be better? Grab a spool of 18-gauge speaker wire. Okay, now cut two lengths and strip off the ends of the wires — you can do this with any wirecutter and 15 failed attempts. Now shove those into the contacts on the back of a pair of bookshelf speakers. Okay, now run the other ends to a stereo receiver. Now find an aux port. Great. Plug in an Echo Dot. Now switch the receiver to AUX — don't change it. BOOM: homemade HomePod, great sound quality, total ease of use.
