If the rumors are to be believed, Apple is shoveling its newly minted $1 trillion wealth pile into minimizing the bezels of the next iPad. Samsung is already out and about with the new Galaxy Tab S4, which also has minimal bezels. Microsoft, meanwhile, just launched a tablet that is quite possibly 100 percent bezel.

So, who's right?

I want to believe in the zero bezel dream. And it makes a lot of sense for a phone, which you hold in your palm. But how do you hold a tablet with no bezels?

Some day soon, I will lean back on the couch and hold up my bezel-less DataPad to watch my Nutritious Edutainment for the evening, and I will drop the DataPad on my face due to a lack of grippable surfaces. On that day, I will curse Samsung and Apple for the time in 2018 when they tried to get cute about how people hold things. And then I will pick up my Microsoft tablet, which is actually just a dry erase board.
