Batteries are incredible. They're also horrible, the bane of our existence at 5PM any day of the week, and badly in need of a breakthrough.

It feels like every month there's a new story proclaiming that some battery tech revolution is on the horizon. But without fail, it never happens.

And why not?

This week, we're going to explore battery tech, how it can improve, and what it means for our lives and electronics.

We're not promising any breakthroughs. But we can explain batteries' biggest problems, where they're going, and what we can realistically expect for the future of one of the most important components in our phones.
