Plant parenthood. This past year, we branched out of our usual social circle and got unimaginably close to our roommates, pets, shadows on the wall, and (lucky for us), our houseplants. While we've always been frond of our green friends, most of have us added "Stay at Home Plant Mom/Dad" to our resumes, and appreciate the extra company more than ever.
Kyle,Product & Design Plant BFF: ThirstySpecial care: Has the pleasure of overhearing my daily Zoom meetings + a healthy dose of dad jokes. Oh yeah... and gets his leaves polished every other month.
Sarah,Sales & Marketing Plant BFF: Vern (get it?)Special care: Ferns are finicky and particular, and they’re vocal about it too... as in, when they need water their fronds change to an unhealthy looking brown. That’s my cue to give her a drink.
Steve,Marketing Plant BFF: The Big PlantSpecial care: We pretty much leave him alone(he’s very independent) and make sure not to overwater.
Mollie,Customer Service Plant BFF: The Dead Freds on their Desert IslandSpecial care: I say “hi” to them every once in a while,& I protect them from my cats who think they are snacks
Anthony,Brand Plant BFF: Lafern (+Shirley not pictured)Special care: She joins in on my yoga & meditation practice. Getting in the right headspace is everything.
Holly, Product. Plant BFF: PrinceSpecial care: I grew her from a cutting that a friend sent me in the mail, so she started off super resilient. I keep her in a bright spot, but out of direct sun and she's never had any complaints. Fun fact: Her leaves close up at night and reopen every morning — she needs her sleep as much as I do.
