In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As you may already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While raising awareness is a priority for us at UrbanStems, it has now become more personal. This summer my wife was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. We quickly had to get up to speed on the different drugs, treatment options, and acronyms. We had to pick doctors and the right hospital. We had to figure out what - if anything - we would tell our two young children. Doctors recommended chemotherapy as our best bet, ensuring it would be a nearly year-long process. We quickly found out we were not alone in this predicament. A staggering one in 8 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. And while there is so much great work being done to help increase the survival rate, there is much more we can do. To help further improve research, care, and support, we will be donating $5 per Macaron bouquet sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A non-profit, BCRF is the highest rated breast cancer organization in the U.S. and is committed to achieving prevention and ultimately finding a cure for breast cancer. Please join us in our quest to continue to raise awareness and eradicate this disease.
