Field Notes Brand Field Notes: The Birds are Back

Hello Friends,

Our release from last fall,  “The Birds and Trees of North America” sold out in record time. We’ve decided to make these 3-packs dedicated to rediscovering the art of Rex Brasher (1869–1960) part of our regular product line. And, we've added a third pack, including the Painted Redstart, Cardinal, and Redshoulder Hawk.

Sales of this series will continue to help the Rex Brasher Association construct a museum in Kent, Connecticut, dedicated to the artist’s life and work. 

Today, Brasher is not well known, but his artistic talent, love of nature, technical expertise, and above all his persistence tell an amazing and inspiring story. He spent a lifetime sketching every North American species in the wild and included 874 color paintings in his monumental twelve-volume The Birds and Trees of North America.

For this series, we’ve carefully reproduced nine of Brasher's colorful illustrations on three 3-Packs of Field Notes Ruled Memo Books.

The covers are a lovely felt-textured 100#C Mohawk Via “Pure White,” bound by three stainless steel staples. The bodies are 60#T Domtar Lynx Opaque Ultra, ruled with pale gray lines.
