We sent out an email about our Virginia Tech Youth Helmet Study. We apologize, but the link in our previous email was incorrect; it is now fixed!

We are partnering with Virginia Tech to develop a new safety rating system specifically for youth bike helmets. We are looking for helmets that have experienced an impact along with any information you have regarding the crash.

Virginia Tech has developed a library of ratings for helmets in multiple sports, using a 5-star ranking system.

While there is currently a general bike helmet rating system, we believe that the types of impacts specific to youth riders may be different than the types of impacts that occur for adults.

We want to gather as much data as possible on crashes with riders under 16 years old, to aid Virginia Tech in creating a standard to better evaluate helmets.

If you have a helmet that was impacted, as well as information around the crash, please email customerservice@giro.com with details and we will reach out to you regarding next steps.

In exchange, we are happy to compensate for sharing your helmet.
