Happy Earth Day!
Although the world is stressed, the Earth is taking a much needed break. Let's look at the positives of our situation
We are all in this together.

Times are tough right now. Whether you are having ocean withdrawls, struggling to keep the kids educated and entertained or looking to learn something new, we are feeling the pressure and GHOF is here for you.
Stay safe and best wishes from all of us.
Dr. Guy Harvey is creating Facebook Lives, posting documentaries, and providing educational activities for educators, students and families.  Students will be able to “dive” into learning science through Dr. Harvey’s art.  The sessions are recorded so students may enjoy at their conveniences and teachers may assign them through their technology platform.  Sessions are built around environmental topics and address Florida state standards.

Track of Susan the Blue Marlin in ETPSP

A blue marlin, named Susan by sponsors, was tagged out of Tropic Star Lodge in Panama as part of the Easter Tropical Pacific Seascape Project in November 2018. Susan was at liberty for 85 days before her tag popped off North West of Galapagos Islands. She travelled over 1,650 miles through the EEZs of at least 3 countries, showing scientists how international coordination will be imperative to managing such a fast moving, highly migratory species.

Whale shark 'Rio Lady' was tagged off of Isla Mujeres in August 2018 and has since made and incredible cyclic journey, returning to the Yucatan aggregation in the summer of 2019. She recently disappeared for 2 months and while scientists thought her tags battery had died, she was still hanging out in the Gulf of Mexico. Will she return to Isla Mujeres in summer 2020? Follow her here to find out!
