New England’s cult condiment, the 19th-century hipster who pioneered modern sportswriting, how lighting changes everything, and more…

It’s the meticulous skill that goes into making every pair by hand, along with a unique firing process that gives these Japanese-made sneakers their name: Shoes Like Pottery. At the 135-year-old MoonStar factory in Kurume, Japan, every pair undergoes a vulcanization process (or ka-ryu in Japanese) using kilns with extreme temps to create an ultra-durable and flexible outsole. Paired with minimalist canvas uppers and a signature blue detailing—it’s easy to see why they’re considered a work of art.

Summer is one big party. And getting the dress code right is as simple as adding a few well-designed prints to your rotation. Whether you keep it classic with plaids and micro prints, or go full-on Tom Selleck with bold tropical flowers (and a glorious ‘stache), you’ll find ‘em all in full bloom at our Summer Prints Shop. They’re the rare pieces of clothing that can pull off “put together” and “down to mix a pitcher of negronis” on the same long, sun-soaked summer Friday.

Most dads we know have a few sides to them. You’ve got the classic dad: tucked-in polo, giant cup of coffee, and a fierce respect for moving out of the left lane if you’re going too slow. You’ve got the rad dad: wearing a faded triathlon tee, with an arsenal of camping gear in the garage. So this Father’s Day, we hunted down gifts that cater to all of these many sides, and we asked a few Huckberry team members to help tee us up with what they’ll be giving Dad this year.
