Hey Alexis -

Marshall here with iHeartDogs. It’s no secret inflation is affecting everyone, including shelters. Over the coming months, pets have been surrendered at an alarming rate. Due to overcrowding, resources for food and supplies are limited and shelters are struggling to simply feed their pets. This Memorial Day weekend we need your help to fund 175,000 meals for shelter dogs in need.

We have a Memorial Day weekend sale that is launching tomorrow, but after looking at this year's shelter pet euthanization stats today I realized it was urgent enough to reach out to you today to get a head start. We're kicking off Memorial Day deals with our super popular Forever In My Heart Solar Lantern, now you can get 2 for $19.99!  - That's two lanterns for the price of one ($49 value)! (*VERY LIMITED SUPPLY...Don't wait.)

We will also be featuring pups that need adopting from our friends over at the Little Red Dog Rescue. (see cute pup Ariel below)

Will you help us reach 175,000 meals this weekend? Let's do this together! Each purchase will help fund meals towards the goal.

Rescue story:

Some guy hid Ariel in a shed after she had just finished nursing. The roommates called animal control to come check on her, but she was severely sick by then with an infection…

She was rushed to Moreno Valley Animal Shelter by animal control and they immediately put out a rescue plea. She arrived with a temp over 105 degrees and had until 5pm that day or she was going to be euthanized because the she was in such bad shape and needed more medical attention than the shelter could offer her.

Thankfully, we were able to save Ariel from the shelter that day and race her to one of our vets. After arriving at the vet, they noticed she was extremely dehydrated, she wasn’t eating, and her mammary glands were swollen, purple, and warm to the touch. She had severe mastitis. The amazing Dr. Kim removed two sections of her mammary glands and put in a drain.

They also discovered she also has an old pelvic fracture that is now healed, meaning she was most likely been hit by a car. After over a month at the vet, four surgeries, and being close to death the entire time…we are thrilled to share Ariel is COMPLETELY BETTER now and thriving in her foster home!
