Khan Academy Sharing updates to our Terms of Service

The Khan Academy team has been working hard to add more features and services in service of our mission to provide a free, world class education available to anyone, anywhere. Today, we're emailing you to let you know about updates to our Terms of Service.

We have updated our terms to provide organizational and substantive clarity. Additionally, we have updated the terms to address recently introduced AI-enabled features and to consolidate into the Terms of Service terms previously covered in supplemental terms addenda. The updated Terms of Service are now available on the Khan Academy website at: https://khanacademy.org/about/docs/khan-academy- terms-of-service.

We encourage you to read our updated terms in full. However, in order to assist you in your review, here is a summary of some of the main changes:

•	We reorganized the order of sections and included new sections and cross- references throughout the terms to make each topic to easier follow.
•	We reorganized the provisions previously appearing in Section 1 (Eligibility: Accounts) into distinct sections addressing specific topics: • we moved provisions relating to different types of user roles and accounts (accounts for learners, children, parents, teachers and coaches) into a new Section 2 (User Accounts) and added clarifying details regarding eligibility for specific account types; • we moved provisions relating to School Use into a distinct section (Section 3) to better guide the reader to specific terms governing use of Khan Academy in the classroom; • we moved provisions relating to international use into a distinct section (Section 4), with additional terms relevant to users outside of the United States; and • we moved provisions relating to use of Integrated Services and Linked Accounts into Section 10 (Specific Account Functionality; AI-Enabled Features).
•	We reorganized terms relating to use of AI-Enabled Features so that most of them appear in a single section (Section 10). These terms have been updated to reflect terms for recently introduced AI-Enabled Features, including terms previously addressed in supplemental terms addenda.
•	We modified the termination provisions in Section 13 to further clarify methods for users to delete their accounts, and to better reflect our account management practices.
•	We refined the language of our indemnification provision to be more concise (Section 15), consolidated and reorganized our warranty disclaimers (Section 16) and clarified our limitation of damages (Section 17.2) provision.
•	We have added additional detail to our dispute resolution and arbitration procedures to reflect current law and practice (Section 18.4).

Our Terms of Service should be read together with the Khan Academy’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into the Terms and forms part of our agreement with you. The new Terms do not change the Privacy Policy or the way that we collect and use your personal information.
