DON'T believe the fake 'Martin Lewis' or 'MSE' ads
Lots of scam ads litter social media and even newspaper websites - some of these lie that we or Martin promote Bitcoin, binary trading etc. See Fake ads warning.

THIS WEEK'S POLL

What's your favourite and least favourite part of Christmas dinner? For a bit of fun during Christmas week, we want to know whether you go silly for sprouts, potty for potatoes, or think turkey trumps all. On the flip side, whether you cringe at carrots, gag at the gravy, or want to bin the bread sauce, we also want to know what you don't enjoy. So tell us your Christmas dinner likes and loathes in this week's poll.

More than half of you have switched energy and/or car insurance provider in 2021. Last week, we asked what you've switched in 2021. Of the 1,700 people who responded, the most common bills switched were energy, with 57% having done so (hopefully before the energy crisis hit), and car insurance, with 55% switching. On the flip side, only 8% had switched their mortgage. See the full switching poll results.

WISHING YOU A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND FINANCIALLY FABULOUS NEW YEAR

That's all for this week - and this year - but before we go, we just want to wish you the very best for 2022 from all of us at MSE. It has been another tough year for many, but here's hoping next year will be a happy and healthy one.

We hope you save some money, stay safe,
The MSE team

PS: You'll notice this email has arrived slightly later than usual, and is a little shorter than usual, due to the festive schedule. Don't worry, we'll be back IN FULL and at the usual time next week.

What you need to know

This info does not constitute financial advice, always do your own research on top to ensure it's right for your specific circumstances - and remember we focus on rates not service.

We don't as a general policy investigate the solvency of companies mentioned, how likely they are to go bust, but there is a risk any company can struggle and it's rarely made public until it's too late (see the Section 75 guide for protection tips).

We often link to other websites, but can't be responsible for their content.

Always remember anyone can post on the MSE forums, so it can be very different from our opinion.

What do the links with an * mean? Any links with an * by them are affiliated, which means get a product via this link and a contribution may be made to MoneySavingExpert.com, which helps it stay free to use. You shouldn't notice any difference; the links don't impact the products at all and the editorial line (the things we write) isn't changed due to them. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, it's still included in the same way. More info: See How This Site is Financed.
